"I have based my examination on your description and drawings as your specification does not include a useable claim on which I can base a search of our library of earlier patent documents, it appears from my reading of your application as a whole that your invention is ‘A bag convertible into a blanket or ground-sheet.
My search has shown that this is not new having been published in:
US 4600091 A (MCLEOD) 15 July 1986
US 4789247 A (SCHNOOR) 6 December 1988
US 4101994 A (HOYT) 25 July 1978
US 5629071 A (FELDMAN) 13 May 1997
US 2005177939 A1 (BOTERA et al.) 18 August 2005
Although these devices may look somewhat different to your device, they nevertheless have all parts of your device and are earlier descriptions of your invention. Regrettably this means that because of these documents your device is not new and therefore I cannot see how it can be patentable.”
